There is risks involved with any type of exercise program. Not all exercises are suitable for everyone and this or any exercise program may result in injury. To prevent the risk of injury of any kind, never force, strain or over stretch. Please consult your doctor before joining "Yoga with Jari" classes, or attempting any of my yoga classes.
What to bring to a yoga class
- Yoga mat and water bottle if you wish. If you do not have your own yoga mat, there are mats available at the studio for you to borrow.
- Wear loose comfortable clothing and bare feet.
- It is best not to practice on a full stomach.
To show consideration for the other students in the class
- Many people are allergic to scents. Please refrain from wearing perfume or cologne to class.
- Please turn off cell phones.
Yoga (Stretch and Relaxation)
For those who are new to yoga and looking for a place to start learning the basic poses (asanas), and also for those who would like to continue to focus on the basic poses, breathing, stretching and relaxation in a comfortable, non-judgmental atmosphere, and at your own pace. Designed to increase your balance, flexibility and mind body awareness you will gain strength and manage stress. More emphasis will be on stretching and relaxation in this class. No experience is necessary.
Beginner Yoga Level 2
This class is focusing on the basic and intermediate poses, breathing, stretching, strengthening and relaxation in a comfortable, supportive, non-judgmental atmosphere, and at your own pace. This class is also designed to increase your balance, flexibility and mind body awareness.
Vinyasa Yoga, Gentle Flow
This class is a gentle flow yoga maintaining a steady flowing yoga workout for a balance of muscle flexibility, strengthening and stamina, with focus on flowing through the pose sequences, linking movement with breath. It is designed to increase your mind body awareness. Variations and options will be given for each pose and transitions so participants can work at their own desired pace and style with safe technique and alignment.
PRENATAL YOGA CLASSES – NAMASKAR YOGA STUDIO
Prenatal classes are specifically designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for mamas-to-be to practice yoga. Through physical yoga practice, breathing techniques, relaxation and meditation we will safely strengthen and stretch to prepare for the expectant mother’s changing body. In this positive and supportive environment, you will learn techniques to connect with your body, mind and Baby.
Mom & Baby yoga class will provide an opportunity for you to regain strength and flexibility and to bond with your baby.
The main focus will be on developing core strength and strengthening the back, abdomen and pelvic floor, as well as releasing tension in the neck, shoulders and back.
Throughout the class, you will have the option to either involve your baby in the movements, to hold him or her, or to have your baby close to you on your blanket. Sometimes babies sleep all class. Fussing and crying is also normal, the babies are welcome just as they are.You will also have the opportunity to learn and practice short baby massages and baby yoga routines that you can then bring home with you.
It is a good idea to wait for about 6 - 8 weeks after the delivery of your baby before attending class. If you had a Caesarean delivery this time should be extended to about 8-10 weeks, or until you receive the go-ahead from your doctor.
